Configurable "close" icon on each tab to close the branch instead of just the single tab

Omkar Ekbote 10 jaar geleden 0
The 'close' icon (red cross) on each tab currently closes just that single tab. To close the entire branch, you have to right-click and then select 'close branch'.

The 'close' icon itself should be configurable so that it can close the branch as default behavior.

Synchronise (or at least duplicate) the tab context menus

dsl101 12 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Joel Thornton 12 jaar geleden 3

One other thing which is dragging me back to the Chrome tabbar is the fact that there are useful context menu options in there, which aren't shown on the Sidewise context menu.

Would it be possible to duplicate all the regular Chrome menu options, as well as the additional Sidewise ones? Perhaps just with a separator between them?

I'm planning on the following:

  1. Add 'Duplicate tab' context menu item
  2. Add a dedicated 'Recently closed' sidebar pane which can be used to do the 'Reopen closed tab' function
  3. The following other new context menu items are under consideration: Close children, Close tabs below, Close tabs above, Close other tabs, and Hibernate/wake equivalents of these; and 'New tab' and 'Reopen closed tab' items. If these are added they will most likely appear after context-menu-user-customization is implemented, and most or all of these will be hidden by default.
  4. Add a dedicated 'Bookmarks' sidebar pane and an 'Add to bookmarks' context menu item which will (hopefully) allow adding whole subtrees of the Sidewise pages tree as a bookmark or bookmark-folder(s), including remembering hibernated tabs.

Are there any other functions that you currently access via the tab bar which would not be covered by this?

Hard to click close button on Mac when lots of tabs are open

Karl Hendrikse 11 jaar geleden 0

When there are enough tabs open so the Sidewise window has a vertical scroll bar, clicking on the X to close tabs doesn't work a lot of the time. This is because the (invisible, unless you're scrolling) scroll bar is on top of the rows, and takes over the very right edge where the close buttons are. To actually close a tab you need to hit the very left edge of the button, which is difficult.

Not sure what the solution is, but adding a gap on the right would be a very helpful workaround.

Great Extension, just add a "lock Tab" option

Robin “the-brain” Weyer 10 jaar geleden 0
... and it would be fantastic.
Something like this.
And wile you are on it, a "protect Tab" option would also be great. ( A protected tab can't be closed. )

when you already have more than 90% code required to 'Permanently' Save a link, then why not to extend it a LITTLE more, So that ONLY YOUR program is used to Save 'Bookmarks' also

G ks 10 jaar geleden bijgewerkt 10 jaar geleden 1
Either i could not find THIS feature or it is not implemented as of now.

One issue faced frequently ->
I've saved a link for a frequently visited website, but after restoring the link if I close that tab, the link is LOST, OR I've to SAVE THE TAB AGAIN in order to restore it the next time.
I understand that some 'Favorites' application should be used for this purpose, but when you already have more than 90% of this feature in your program then why not to exend it a LITTLE to make it Even More useful.

One possible Solution ->
One ADDITIONAL button with the link APPEARS -> To 'Permanently Save' the link. This button will contain the code for EXISTING Close-and-save button so that the link is 'Preserved' in the Existing way, BUT ALSO it will save the link in an area which can be VIEWED in another tab also 'Permanently saved Links'.

Thus the link saved by this NEW button -> alongwith appearing
In the main tab, it appears in ONE MORE TAB (permanently Saved Links),

The 'Permanently saved link' can be opened from Main tab as well as from the EXTRA TAB 'Permanently Saved links' -> so that the link's ENTRY IN THE MAIN TAB IS REMOVED / CLOSED after "restoring-and-closing" it in the window but the link in the 'Permanently saved links' tab REMAINS-THERE even after closing the "restored link-TAB"

Add ability to open selected tab

Robin Bono 11 jaar geleden bijgewerkt door Joel Thornton 11 jaar geleden 0

Add ability to open selected tab in new chrome window, or ability to drag the tag in sidewize to new chrome window.

As in my case when I have alot of tabs and arent able anymore to select any of the tabs as chrome support but have to use sidewize all the time, it would be nice to be able to move that tab to a new window by rightclick the tab in sidewize and select the option to move it to a new window. Also if you could just drag that tab in sidewize outside and it automatically start a new google chrome window.

Why I need this feature is becuse I have 4 screens and sometimes I multitask and look on for example a youtube video and read articles at same time. Then it is a bit annoying to "start a new google chrome -> copy adress from the website I want to have in new google chrome -> paste it in new -> close the old one"

Losing link between tabs in SW and Chrome

dsl101 11 jaar geleden bijgewerkt 11 jaar geleden 1

Several times over the last few weeks I've noticed that tabs occasionally get 'disconnected' between Chrome and SW. At the moment, I have a tab which is shown in the list on SW and in the tab bar in Chrome. But clicking on the tab in SW doesn't activate that tab. Similarly, if I activate a different tab and then switch to the problem tab using Chrome's tab bar, the highlighted row in SW doesn't update - it still shows as if I'm on the original tab.

Sidewise has gone a bit strange again...

dsl101 11 jaar geleden 0

... as you can see from this screencap. I've not seen it display itself like this before - I've definitely only got one Chrome window open...
