0 hibernated pages

When working with hibernated pages, moving the only page from one hibernated list to another results in a list of 0 hibernated pages.

Scroll bar tends to pop up and cover the close buttons on OSX

Steven Lu 7 years ago 0

This makes it hard to quickly close many tabs which is one of the main uses for this tool.

Only need to just ensure that there is enough padding (10px more wouuld be great) to clear the scrollbar always.

turn off hibernation of tabs.

Ian 7 years ago 0

Please please please allow turning off the viewing of hibernated tabs in the sidewise window.  I now have the first window with 30 or 40 tabs (4 active) and the rest are  hibernated. I don't seem to remember this before??    Is there a setting I am missing???

The purpose of this program for me is when you have many windows with tabs on each and you want to quickly find the windows visually.  Now there are so many hibernated tabs on each window I can't find the tabs I want and I have to scroll to see the windows because  the first window is so long because of the hibernated tabs.  . Sadly I have unloaded the extension because it does not serve it's main purpose.

Simple fix.  toggle viewing of hibernated windows and allow viewing of actual windows with actual tabs.

A paid mode for reliable daily backups (so you get funded and source code can be released)?

Taija Mertanen 7 years ago 0

If you need more funding for the development of this extension, what do you think about a paid mode with a SINGLE TIME payment model, that would provide the users with constant, reliable backups to a remote service. Google Drive, for example, has limits to the API requests, I think it's 500 write requests per project per day. So it would only be understandable that you needed a little more funding to increase that quota.

I definitely would be willing to pay for that mode, if the single-time payment was reasonable.

This doesn't mean other users couldn't create backups, but it could be limited in some way or only limited to local backups. I've heard a lot of people have had problems with the current export/import system, so I'm a little afraid to start using Sidewise seriously, in case I lose my data.

Also, I know people have been bothering you a lot of about making this project open source and I know you have limited resources and time. But if you got some extra funding, I would hope you could then release the source code to GitHub. I personally would really love to fork the project. :)

Anyway, just a suggestion.

Improving highlighting, labels and pins

Taija Mertanen 7 years ago 0

I think this is a very nice extension. I've been using Tabs Outliner before (I actually paid a one-time donation to get the full version, which was worth it for me, because this is a really important feature to me) but Sidewise seems like a good competitor. It's lacking in some parts (like backups and keyboard shortcuts), but it's innovative in others.

One thing I like is the ability to highlight tabs, but I think it needs some more colors to be truly useful.

The labels/titles are pretty good as they are, but I would like to be able to comment on empty rows too - not empty tabs, just rows with no link at all.

When you pin a tab and unpin it, it doesn't return to its original position. Being able to pin a tab to the top, and then return it to its place in the hierarchy, would make more sense and be more useful.

Is Sidewise still in Beta as Chrome indicates? Will you be releasing a stable version.

leighward 7 years ago 0

Thanks for your hard work. I've been wanting to switch from my older version of FF to Chrome since Tree Style Tabs does not support newer FF versions.  Is Sidewise still in Beta as Chrome indicates? Will you be releasing a stable version? I would love to make the move to and use sidewise/ Chrome full time. Please let me know the status. Thanks so much.

Option to to disable tab hierarchy tree

Love the vertical tabs and window names, but I don't need the parent/child distraction. It also increases the amount of space required for the sidebar.

Sidewise incompatiable with gmail when used in Chrome on Windows 10

Chris Appleby 7 years ago 0

My cursor flickers when I'm in gmail trying to type a letter. It also sometimes does not let me cut/paste words from the letter. I've isolated the issue to Sidewise. When I click on the URL box at the top of Chrome that has some URL showing, then move my mouse over sidewise which sits on the left hand side of my Chrome browser, the URL starts to flicker.

Please advise.
