Really bad runaway chrome process
Recently I've been noticing my PC (reasonable 3GHz 4 core AMD) slowing down. On inspection it was a chrome.exe process running at 100% (well, 25%). It took a while for the Task Manager menu to open, but I was eventually able to kill it. It took 3 goes (and does every time this happens). On the 3rd process kill, everything springs back to normal - except for the 'Snap' message in the SW window. Reloading the extension solves it for a while.
Really keen to help solve this one - it's driving me nuts and makes Chrome somewhat unreliable with SW running...
Problem with 2012.11.23 - won't start
I have a problem with the new version on my laptop - the sidewise window is not displayed at all, and the following errors appear in the log:

I'm on Chrome 21.0.1180.75
I strongly suspect the cause is an incompatibility with Chrome 21.x. I believe the current stable version of Chrome is 23.x - are you able to upgrade?
Group Tabs - The Way It Should Work
Great: Sidewise keeps hibernated tabs of a window being closed
Of course all you did here is more than great! I don't know an English word that could possibly describe how awesome your work is! I'm sure all the users appreciate how close you work with them and how you take any idea into consideration (and actually nearly realize all of them)!
What I just found out now and really liked is, that when you close a window with hibernated tabs, sidewise still keeps them as a "Hibernated" group! Awesome!
clicks and icons
Hello.
I'm not sure if I've managed to post this few minutes ago, so, I'll try again.
1. Could you get rid of Sidewise taskbar button? It doesn't make sense to be there when it's linked to the Chrome. Additionally, the problem with alt-tab order wouldn't exist any more...
2. Could you make double click on blank background open a new tab as in Opera?
Tnx.
#1: Unfortunately to my knowledge, there is no way to prevent Chrome from doing this. Sidewise creates a new Chrome window to put the sidebar in and as far as I can tell Chrome gives us no control over specifics such as taskbar button. The real fix is for Chrome team to implement a proper sidebar API that extensions can use.
#2: Completed, will be in next release due out by end of month.
Marking this as COMPLETED since #2 is done and we don't really have a good solution for #1. I'll be writing a FAQ page for Sidewise sometime soon and will include the information about TrayIt there just in case people want to go through that process to improve the existing behavior inasmuch as they can.
dash
HI, I just found that if a folder name contains a dash that I could not put objects in the folder. For example a folder name of RA-EPS-INTG would not behave as expected.
Single icon view?
Basically, I now have a new monitor set up that is rotated so it's in portrait. This is highly beneficial for web browsing (though my main purpose was PDFs and multi-tasking)—normally! This is because my portrait monitor has a resolution of 1050x1680, so its horizontal resolution is just about enough to work for most websites nowadays. This presented a problem, though. I often run a lot of tabs. Now with Chrome on this monitor, as opposed to my landscape monitor, all of the tabs are narrow triangles with no icons, thus having to awkwardly find out what each one is.
Sidewise seemed as if it could be an ideal solution for this. However, even at its minimal width, the Chrome window on many pages displays a horizontal scroll bar, making navigation less easy. Would you be able to introduce an icon view? You could move the buttons at the top vertically, and then have all tab names displayed by mouse-overs, if you get what I mean. :)
Trying to understand what you mean: are you essentially looking for a sidebar that displays horizontally (e.g. across the top of the screen) and just shows tab icons instead of labels too?
Close tab in Sidewise on middle-click
This is a default behaviour on general tabs...
Thanks for a nice extension!
