New version just released. Let me know what you think!
Will be looking at creating a roadmap and "early release version" during this next release cycle.
As a halfway solution, you can shift-click to select the range of pages you want to close in the sidebar, then ctrl-click the page(s) you want to keep open to remove them from the selection, and finally right click one of the selected rows and do "close tab".
I know it's not as handy as a dedicated "close others" action, but it may be more convenient than switching back to Chrome's horizontal tabbar.
Considering the best way to support this. I don't think this is an action that many people would use often, and I also wonder whether we'd also want a "hibernate other" option ... perhaps in addition one would like "close others" vs. "close other branches" and "hibernate others" vs. "hibernate other branches".
Currently considering adding these actions after I add the ability for users to toggle/reorder which items appear in their context menu, and having them be non visible in the context menu by default.

#1: In the next release there will be an 'open new tab' button that appears when you hover a window row in the tree. And you'll also be able to double click in the white space below the tree to open a new tab in the current window. There will also be an option to control what appears in these new tabs.
#2: Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about this: since Sidewise's sidebar is actually just a second Chrome window that is positioned next to the main Chrome window, the main Chrome window has to be unmaximized for both to be visible on a single monitor. Until Chrome team gives extension developers a proper sidebar API we're probably stuck with this behavior.
Donations aren't covering a whole lot at this stage :) But every bit helps. Given Sidewise's small user base and its beta status, I think the users have been quite generous.
Sources definitely coming! Most likely after a couple more "core" features go in, plus some tidying up.
Apologies for the delay - sometimes, life intervenes :)
I expect to release sometime this week. Most everything is working properly, and the known bugs are not show-stoppers.
Good point. I think I will just make clicking the pin icon in the row have no special effect, since unpinning is not a very commonly used action, and you can also right click a row to unpin or pin it from the sidebar if desired.
