I also like to have my windows taskbar sidedocked as well. This seems to confuse the docking of Sidewise...

I'm so happy to have found this!  It's allowed me to move away from FF.  So much so that I've donated.

  • Have to manually resize windows or Sidewise gets stuffed under my taskbar :-(
  • I wish I could get rid of the top tabs in the browser window as well.

I'm currently doing a rework of the Sidewise window-positioning logic, which (thanks to recent improvements in Chrome's API) should make this all work much more reliably and predictably.

As far as the top tabs, unfortunately Chrome provides no mechanism that I'm aware of to hide these, either via a user- or extension-initiated action.

  • Have you tried clicking the "maximize" button of your browser? Sidewise automatically resizes the browser window after you do this.
  • Unfortunately, this is not possible due to Chrome limitations. (Or it would have been done already.)
Yeah, Sidewise is the Firefox-killer for me as well. :)

Shot in the dark, but given that you can't remove the top tabs, is there a way to get sidewise to show up in presentation mode?

I have the same problem as o.p. Scott Olsen. Clicking the maximize button does not resolve this problem (unless you close the Sidewise window first). When the Sidewise is open at the left or right and the Windows taskbar is docked on the side, either the Chrome window or the Sidewise sidebar (whichever you have on the same side as the taskbar) will slide under the taskbar and needs to be manually moved.

Thanks for this - I will make sure to test this case (side-docked Windows taskbar) is corrected in my rework of Sidewise's window positioning logic.
