BUG-Screen Flicker and System Corruption-Had to Disable Sidewise because of system instability

pgicruiser 3 years ago 0

After using Sidewise for several years, I finally had to disable it because it was causing system instability issues. For months I thought the issue was the Chrome browser. Every time I opened Chrome I would start to get an irritating screen flicker. It also affected the overall performance of my PC. I deleted and reinstalled Chrome several times, but the problem would reoccur whenever Chrome was running. I switched to Firefox and no longer had the system problems, and using FF's Tree Style Sidebar gives me the same advantage as Sidewise in Chrome. Recently, I again tried Chrome and disabled all extensions, then enabled them one-by-one. I discovered that Sidewise was the culprit and disabled the extension. Now I can run Chrome without it corrupting the other applications running on the system. Please fix the problem, because I miss using Sidewise. I frequently have many tabs open (currently have 92 tabs open in FF, but sometimes have more) at the same time and miss doing that in Chrome because of not being able use the sidebar. I now only have 3 tabs open in Chrome, whereas I would usually have dozens. I've noticed tat others have reported the problem, but have not seen a solution. Please fix the issue and win back your fans. I'm running Windows 10 20H2 on Intel Core i7 1065G7 processor with 40GB RAM and 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD.
