issue with wake up from hibernation

saidalisamed 5 years ago updated by sideecho3424242 5 years ago 3

After the latest chrome update on Mac, sidewise shows its own window as a separate window group. Also waking up a hibernated tab doesn't place it back to its original location but instead creates a new tab. This is rather frustrating having to lose the location of the hibernated tab that I had kept for so long.

"waking up a hibernated tab doesn't place it back to its original location but instead creates a new tab" - same in Windows machine, probably related to chrome and/or Sidewise update, as mentioned in another recent report here

Is there a fix for this?

I found the open source repo for this extension, and someone else complained about the same thing here:

https://github.com/joelpt/sidewise/issues/82

From there, a kind developer forked the project, and fixed this issue for us, and more!

https://github.com/mcpower/sidewise

And if you're not comfortable using someone else's code, mcpower gave clear instructions on how to modify the existing sidewise code to fix the hibernation/wake issue.

Have fun!
