Sidewise window is not shown when switching from another application (Windows 7)

The sidewise window is not shown when switching to the Chrome window from another application. It doesn't matter how I switch, be it Alt-Tab, Win-<number> (when on position <number> in the taskbar), clicking the entry in the taskbar.
