Joel, I'd like to send you the error report for my sidewise tool, it no longer opens in chrome. I had 1500 strategic tabs that will be lost because of this. I love this tool, just hope you can work out this bug.

change from chrome to other app and back sidewise does not reappear

Peter Buyze vor 11 Jahren 0

when you have chrome and sidewise side-by-side, then move to another app (e.g;. Word), then back to chrome, sidewise does not reappear with chrome, you have to click on it to make it reappear. Can this be fixed so Sidewise reappear automatically with Chrome?

How to make Sidewise remember a multiple-window-session

Max Muster vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Joel Thornton vor 11 Jahren 0

Is there a way to make Sidewise remember a multiple-window-session? Is the only way to make chrome crash (would sidewise remember the session if chrome crashed?)

Thanks!

Joel Thornton vor 11 Jahren

Currently this should be possible by clicking Chrome's "tools" button (the three-horizontal-lines icon at the far right of the address bar) then choosing Exit. When you restart later, any windows that were open at the time of exit should be preserved. This is also assuming you have the "Remember open tabs between browser sessions" option turned on.

The next major feature I'm planning on is a "Recently closed" sidebar pane. Once this is implemented, it should be possible to find all previously closed windows there just as they were, regardless of how you closed the windows/Chrome previously.

If Chrome crashes, it should also remember all the windows that were previously open, similarly to when the Exit method is used.

Weird popup info problem with pinned tabs

dsl101 vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert von Joel Thornton vor 12 Jahren 0

Just noticed that the small popup windows that appear when you hover in the sidewise window do strange things if you have pinned tabs. They seem to miss the 'mouse leave' event or whatever it is that usually clears them, and they end up stuck on. Reloading clears them. Sorry it's hard to describe how to replicate - open half a dozen tabs, pin 3 of them, then hover about in the tab list - you should see what I mean :)

This is fixed for the next release, which should be coming out sometime between now and the end of the month.

Thanks for the report!

Please add "close other tabs" to the context menu

Alexander Uslontsev vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Joel Thornton vor 11 Jahren 2

Otherwise I have to go back to default tabs for doing this (and this is a hard mental switch).

If clicked on a branch - it would close everything ABOVE and OTHER branches, but keep children open

Considering the best way to support this. I don't think this is an action that many people would use often, and I also wonder whether we'd also want a "hibernate other" option ... perhaps in addition one would like "close others" vs. "close other branches" and "hibernate others" vs. "hibernate other branches".

Currently considering adding these actions after I add the ability for users to toggle/reorder which items appear in their context menu, and having them be non visible in the context menu by default.

There any limitation of number of hibernated tabs?

Dragging a URL down the list to move into a folder is intermittantly buggy

tim777 vor 10 Jahren 0
When I drag a url tab down the list of tabs in Sidewise, all to often it does not work, and the folder is not highlighed correctly when I move the tab on top of the group (I get an underline instead of a highlighted box....it winds up not being moved......something weird is going on, it is not stable

Please fix....very annoying and not workable if I have to continuely be worried that I am going to lose my dragable tab on the way to the folder.

Also please fix also:  if I want to move my tabs up or down the list, it is not working.....I cant seem to insert the tab between other tabs where I want it

Behavior of Ctrl+F should be optional

Chris Morrow vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von royalcrown vor 11 Jahren 3

I love the ability to search among my tabs, but I don't need to do it with a key combination. For me, Ctrl+F always means "search for text in the active tab", especially because I can't remember whether Sidewise or the Chrome window is the currently active window.

I would prefer that Sidewise not give Ctrl+F any functionality at all (yes, I'll be initially frustrated that no in-tab search seems to be happening, but I'll work my way around it), but I'm sure other users like it, so it should be optional (maybe as part of a "turn off key commands" option?).
